There is great news for those patriotic youth who dream of becoming a part of the Indian Army. The Indian Army has started the application process for recruitment to officer posts in the Territorial Army. This is a voluntary service, which gives common citizens an opportunity to join the army. Graduate youth can apply online for this by visiting www.indianarmy.nic.in or jointerritorialarmy.gov.in till June 10.
Under this recruitment campaign, a total of 19 posts will be recruited, out of which 18 posts are reserved for male candidates, while 1 post has been reserved for female candidates.

What is Territorial Army? : -
The Territorial Army is a voluntary organization, established in 1948. It is considered as the second line of defense of the Indian Army. You can experience the army while being a common citizen. You can be called into active service if needed.
This is not a regular job, but an opportunity to serve the country, along with your existing job or business. The Territorial Army has participated in many important operations including 1962, 1965, 1971 and the Kargil War of 1999.
Eligibility criteria: -
Candidates applying for this recruitment should be between 18 and 42 years of age. Apart from this, it is mandatory for the candidate to have a graduate degree from a recognized university. It is also necessary to be physically and medically fit to participate in the selection process, as this service demands physical ability and mental toughness.
To participate in this recruitment process, candidates will have to deposit an application fee of Rs 500. Applications will be accepted only through online mode, for which candidates can apply by visiting the website www.indianarmy.nic.in or www.jointerritorialarmy.gov.in.
Pay Scale and Benefits : -
Candidates selected for the post of Territorial Army Officer will be given a pay scale between Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500, which will be decided according to their post and experience during the service. Apart from this, Military Service Pay of Rs 15,500 will also be provided during the service period. Candidates will also get many facilities like ration, army canteen, medical facilities, leave encashment, government accommodation and travel allowance, which provide them a respectable and secure life.
Recruitment is done from time to time in the Territorial Army for the posts of Junior Commissioned Officer, Non-Commissioned Officer and other ranks. The selected candidates are given rank equal to the Indian Army and they discharge the same responsibilities. For this recruitment, the age of the candidate should be between 18 to 42 years and he should be completely medically fit.
